I had a lovely stay with my partner, particularly enjoying the delightful atmosphere with the cozy log fire and the scrumptious 7-course Christmas lunch! One downside was the slightly underwhelming portion size for the price. I would definitely come back again!

Great food selection, but parking was tricky with a big car.

The historic charm of the main building adds character, with an intriguing layout that hints at its age. The cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect retreat during chilly evenings.
Parking proves challenging, particularly with larger vehicles like a Mercedes due to the absence of designated spaces and clear signage. The room felt cluttered with a free-standing fan cable tangled with a chair leg, creating an uneasy first impression. After some digging, the hairdryer, presumably misplaced by the last guest, was eventually located, though it shouldn't have been an issue for the arriving guest to begin with.

The dining experience was a highlight, featuring beautifully presented dishes like the beef bourguignon, combined with excellent service that felt genuinely attentive without being intrusive. A highlight was the complimentary homemade sourdough served during dinner, enhancing the overall experience.

Couple's cozy escape
I had a homemade mulled wine that went down really well and the large glass of Merlot my wife had was good. The garden was very pretty with large wooden tables under red sunshades, perfect for summer and great views of the village green.
It wasn’t cheap but still fine for the experience we had.

great ambiance with minor parking hassle
The atmosphere was remarkably inviting, with a charming garden view that added to the serenity of our stay. I appreciated the staff's attentiveness, particularly the General Manager Jack, who expertly suggested wine pairings that enhanced our dining experience. The full English breakfast used high-quality produce, providing an excellent start to our day.
Parking was a bit challenging due to limited space.
